How to Open Yourself to Receiving Abundance

In the last two Footsteps articles we’ve explored the blocks that lightworkers often have to receiving.

First we looked at The Big Three Signs that indicate you might have these blocks that keep you from receiving the abundance of prosperity, joy, and well-being that is the birthright of each of us. (Many of you told me that you have not just one but two or all three.)

Then we investigated the reasons why you have these blocks, which amount to karmic debts, vows, and obligations, and unconscious, deep-seated fears of unintended consequences that emanate from the wounds of past (or past-life) experiences and are stored as energy blocks in your personal energy field.

So let’s say that you’ve recognized that you have at least one of the blocks – represented, for example, by significant credit card debt – then understanding where that block comes from is helpful but it doesn’t get you what you really want: GETTING RID OF THE DARN THING!!

What can you do to clear these energy blocks and heal the wounds that cause them?

First, let me say that there’s one solution that definitely will NOT work: Doing things the same way you have been until now. Someone (Albert Einstein, according to the Facebook memes) suggested this was the definition of insanity; it might very well be the path to it. So continuing to wish and hope that money will show up, for example, or apply sheer willpower to the situation, won’t get you very far at all.

There are, however, a number of different solutions that WILL work – to varing degrees of effectiveness depending on the exact nature of your blocks and where you are in your spiritual journey. I encourage you to be open to trying something new, and perhaps even pursuing a multi-pronged approach to changing your life.

Unlock your mindAll of the suggestions I’m going to make amount to “Change your thoughts, change your life” – which is a true saying that doesn’t begin to address the question of “how?” They all abide by the understanding that your conscious thoughts are influenced by many unconscious feelings, thoughts, and beliefs; some of them directly acknowledge the root of those influences as energy that needs to be transmuted.

Here are my best suggestions for clearing your blocks to receiving abundance, joy, and prosperity:

1) Affirmations – This is the simplest version of changing your thoughts. It is literally thinking and speaking new, intentional thoughts. Some people call this the “fake it till you make it” approach; you keep repeating good thoughts over and over, with the hope that they’ll replace the limiting ones. If you repeat any statement often enough, your unconscious mind will eventually accept it as truth – statements such as “I’m open to all the goodness that the Universe has for me.”

2) Bringing awareness to your thoughts through cognitive therapies or Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP). Unlike the first approach of affirmations, which focuses only on creating new, positive thoughts, techniques like these put attention on the current thoughts, words, and behaviors that create barriers in your life and give you ways to replace them. Such a practitioner will help you recognize your patterns with regard to money, intuition, relationships, and other areas of receiving.

Woman receiving energy healing3) Leveraging the Theta brainwave state. Techniques like hypnosis (self- or professionally-guided) or ThetaHealing unlock your unconscious mind by putting you into a mild or strong meditative state. They take a fast path through your conscious thinking and conscious learning paths – almost bypassing them completely – so that changes to your thoughts can be made faster. I have practiced ThetaHealing, and I’m also a big fan of self-hypnosis and guided meditation recordings.

4) Energy healing. Unlike the first three suggestions that all require some level of cooperation from your conscious mind, energy healing such as Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) works directly energy-to-energy. As I said before, the root of your blocks is energy that needs to be changed; when you set your intention for healing, such as releasing blocks to receiving, the healing energy automatically follows your intention.

I’ve learned and performed at least half of the approaches I’ve mentioned above; NONE has healed blocks to receiving as quickly and effectively as energy healing, especially IET. I’ve discerned that it’s because we’re using energy to transmute energy, rather than going through the mind, with its filters and fears, to get to the root of the problem. With every other approach that I’ve tried, I witnessed clients (and myself) unconsciously resist the healing that they’ve consciously asked for, but I rarely observe that resistance with IET.

In fact, this is why all of my healing sessions are now IET sessions. I might occasionally add in another technique like ThetaHealing or something intuitively guided and undefined, but the sessions are always built on a foundation of IET. This has produced the best results for my Inner Circle clients, helping them tangibly restore a flow of money, joy, and well-being into their lives.
